Here's why: Simplifi's primary focus is to make your finances, well, simple. So, by design, Simplifi is intended to connect directly to your bank and automatically download your transactions for you, so there is no need to enter transactions manually. The balance displayed should always match your bank balance (including pending transactions).

While reconciling can be effective for manually entered transactions in manually created accounts, Simplifi is optimized for downloaded, not manual, transactions.
