How Simplifi Calculates Your Balance
Simplifi calculates your balance by deducting your pending transactions from your current bank balance -- this includes manually entered pending transactions with the current or a prior date. That way, you always know where your account stands!
Note: Manually entered transactions marked as "Cleared" do not affect the balance on connected accounts.
Example: If your bank reports your current balance as $1000 and you have a pending transaction of $150, Simplifi will show the account balance as $850.
While we work hard to ensure that we display the most up-to-date information, it can take up to four hours after appearing on your bank's end before pending transactions appear in Simplifi.
What If My Bank Balance Already Includes Pending Transactions?
If the balance provided by your financial institution already includes pending transactions, you can disable Simplifi from counting the pending transactions in the balance so that they're not being double-counted.
You can do so for all of your accounts by selecting the three dots to the upper right of the Accounts List:
You can also do so for each of your accounts individually:
Hover over the panel on the left-hand side and select Settings.
Locate the Account that you'd like to change and click the three dots at the end of it.
Select Edit account.
Check the box in the Balance with Pending section so that Simplifi no longer deducts pending transactions from your balance.
Click Update when done.
Note: Updating your settings to exclude pending transactions from your account balance(s) will not be reflected immediately. Instead, this change will take place at the next successful account refresh, which may take 4-6 hours.
