Since Simplifi is designed to not double count transactions in the Spending Plan, you won't want to create a Planned Spending Expense for a Recurring Item.

If you do create a Planned Spending Expense for a Recurring Item, the transaction will be included in the Bills and Income section of the Spending Plan as soon as it's linked to the Recurring Reminder, and it will not be counted towards the Planned Spending Expense.

However, any additional spending in that Category outside of transactions that are linked to a Recurring Reminder will be counted towards the Planned Spending Expense.
