Simplifi is designed to include Recurring Transactions in the Bills and Income section of the Spending Plan and leaves Planned Spending for items that are expected each month but aren't necessarily bills, such as gas or groceries. Therefore you cannot create a Planned Expense for a Recurring Item.

If you do create a Planned Expense for a Recurring Item, the Transaction will be included in the Bills and Income section of the Spending Plan, and will not be counted towards the Planned Expense.
