Overview

With most of us shopping online these days, we know how hard it is to keep track of all of the items you've returned and when you should expect to receive the refund. Let Quicken Simplifi do that for you!

Our Refund Tracker is designed to keep an eye out for your expected refunds so you don't have to. Once you tell us what items you've returned and the expected reimbursement amount, Quicken Simplifi will monitor your downloaded transactions and notify you if it's not received by the expected date.

Tracking a Refund

  1. Hover over the menu on the left-hand side and select Reports.

  2. Select Refund Tracker.

  3. Click the blue + Track a Refund button.

  4. Enter the Payee, Amount, Date, and Account for the expected refund. You can also add a Category, a Note, as well as an Attachment to reference the item returned.

  5. Click Submit when done.

Link a Refund to a Transaction

While we work hard to ensure Quicken Simplifi properly links downloaded transactions to your expected refunds, sometimes Quicken Simplifi will get it wrong. In those cases, you can manually link the transaction to the refund.

Note: Manually entered transactions cannot be linked to refunds at this time.

  1. Hover over the menu on the left-hand side and select Transactions.

  2. Locate the refund transaction you'd like to link, hover over it, then click the three dots at the end of it.

  3. Select Edit transaction.

  4. Click the blue Mark as received link next to "Tracking a refund?"

  5. Select the Refund that you'd like to link the transaction to.

Quicken Simplifi will link the downloaded transaction to the expected refund and update the transaction details, such as the Payee and Category, to what was provided in the Refund Tracker.

Note: You can also link a refund to a transaction from the Refund Tracker or the Refund Reminder directly.

Unlink a Refund from a Transaction

  1. Hover over the menu on the left-hand side and select Transactions.

  2. Locate the refund transaction you'd like to unlink, hover over it, then click the three dots at the end of it.

  3. Select Edit transaction.

  4. Select Unmerge next to "A manual and bank transaction were combined to create this entry".

Once unlinked, Quicken Simplifi will revert any changes made to the Payee and Category at the time of linking.

Edit or Delete a Refund

  1. Hover over the menu on the left-hand side and select Reports.

  2. Select Refund Tracker.

  3. Locate the refund you'd like to edit or delete and click the three dots to the upper right of it.

  4. To edit the refund, select Edit, make the necessary changes, and click Submit when done; to delete the refund, select Delete.
