Learn how to use Reports on the Quicken Simplifi Mobile App

Overview

Quicken Simplifi's Reports make it easy to look at your income and spending over time, which is a great tool for building a healthy financial future. You can also easily track refunds, as well as review your Monthly Summary, all from within the Reports feature of the Quicken Simplifi Mobile App!

Note: Transactions that are excluded from Reports will still be displayed in the Transaction Activity of the Report, but will be greyed out and will not be counted toward the calculations.


Types of Reports

You can access Quicken Simplifi' s Reports by clicking the Menu icon (the three lines in the upper left corner), and then selecting Reports.

Income

The Income Report gives you a breakdown of your income over time displayed by month. You can then choose the Date Range by which you'd like to view your income by selecting from the list of available ranges, or by creating your own custom range. You can also choose to view the Income Report by Categories, Payees, or Tags.

The graph displayed at the top of this Report makes it easy to see your income over time, as well as provides an income total for the chosen Date Range. You can select any of the months displayed below the graph to see a list of all income transactions for that month, as well as edit the transactions.

This Report also comes with the ability to apply Filters, such as specific Categories, Payees, or Accounts, which gives you the full flexibility to see where and when you've had income.

Total Spending

The Total Spending Report gives you a breakdown of your spending over time, using your Categories, Payees, or Tags. You can then choose the Date Range by which you'd like to view your spending, by selecting from the list of available ranges, or by creating your own custom range.

The graph displayed at the top of this Report makes it easy to see your spending for each area. You can select any of the items listed below the graph to see a list of the transactions included for that area, as well as edit the transactions.

This Report also comes with the ability to apply Filters, such as specific Categories, Payees, or Accounts, which gives you the full flexibility to see where, when, and what you're spending your money on.

Spending by Month

The Spending by Month Report gives you a breakdown of your spending by month and can be broken down by specific Date Ranges. You can also choose to view the Spending by Month Report by Categories, Payees, or Tags.

When selecting this Report, you'll see a graph at the top that shows you your spending for each month. You can select any of the months listed below the graph to see a list of the transactions included for that area, as well as edit the transactions.

This Report also gives you the ability to apply Filters, such as specific Categories, Payees, or Accounts, which allows the flexibility to narrow down your spending patterns even further.

Net Income by Month

The Net Income by Month Report gives you a breakdown of your net income (income after expenses) over the last 6 months including the current month, displayed by month.

This Report comes with an interactive graph that shows you your net income for each month where you can select any of the dots in the graph to see a list of all of the transactions included for that month. You can also access the list of transactions, as well as edit them, for any given month by selecting the desired month displayed below the graph.

This Report also gives you the ability to apply Filters, such as specific Categories, Payees, or Accounts, which allows the flexibility to narrow down your spending patterns even further.

Savings

The Savings Report gives you a breakdown of your end-of-month balances for any Savings accounts that you're tracking in Quicken Simplifi, broken down by account.

The graph displayed at the top of this Report makes it easy to see your total Savings balance over time, and below the graph, you'll see your end-of-month savings balances for each month. You can select any of the months listed below the graph to see a list of any savings deposits made that month, as well as edit them.

This Report can be displayed by different Date Ranges, where you can choose from the list of available ranges, as well as create your own custom range. You can also Filter this Report to select which of your Savings accounts you'd like to view.

Net Worth

The Net Worth Report shows you your net worth over time based on historical account balances.

The graph displayed at the top of this Report makes it easy to see your Net Worth for the selected time frame, and below the graph, you'll be able to select individual days or months to see a breakdown of the balance for each of your accounts.

This Report can be displayed by different Date Ranges, where you can choose from the list of available ranges, as well as create your own custom range. You can also Filter this Report to select which of your accounts you'd like included.

Monthly Summary

The Monthly Summary Report gives you your Income, Expenses, Net Income, Top Spending by Category, Top Spending by Payee, and the Progress made towards your Savings Goals for the prior month.

This Report makes it easy to see, at a glance, where you were at for the prior month, and it also lets you know how you're doing compared to the month before!

Refund Tracker

With most of us shopping online these days, we know how hard it is to keep track of all of the items you've returned and when you should expect to receive the refund. Let Quicken Simplifi do that for you!

Viewing Subcategories in the Spending Report

If you're looking to view specific Subcategories in your Spending Reports, we've got you covered! You can easily filter your Report to include just the Subcategories that you'd like to see.

To do so, you'll want to navigate to your Report, make sure the Breakdown is 'By Categories', and then select Filters. Here, you'll select Categories, and then you can expand the Subcategory options by clicking the little arrow to the left of the Category, and then select the Subcategories you'd like to view in your Report. When done, click Apply and then Show results and your Report will now be filtered by the Subcategories that you selected!

Note: If you've selected multiple Subcategories to filter your Report by, you can click on the primary Category listed below the graph to see the Transaction breakdown of each individual Subcategory.

Can I download or print a Report?

Quicken Simplifi doesn't offer the ability to download or print Reports. However, you can export the Transaction Activity associated with a Report into a CSV file that can be printed. To learn how to export transactions, check out our help article here! Please note that exporting transactions is currently only available on the Quicken Simplifi Web App.

Why does the Net Worth Report not show all of my data?

The Net Worth Report is designed to start tracking balances from the day you add your account(s) in Quicken Simplifi as opposed to the date of the first transaction. If you would like to see this changed, please be sure to add your vote and feedback here!

How do I exclude transactions from Reports?

Excluding transactions from Reports is super easy! You can exclude a transaction from the Report directly, as well as anywhere else you see your transactions in Quicken Simplifi. When excluding a transaction from Reports, you'll still see the transaction in the Transaction Activity of the Report, however, it will not be included toward the calculations. Find out more here!

How do I exclude an account from Reports?

You can easily exclude an entire account from Reports! Doing so will also exclude the account from Watchlists. Learn how to exclude an account here!

How are Credit Card Payments and Transfers handled in Reports?

Transactions with a 'Transfer' Category, including "Credit Card Payment", will always be excluded from Reports, even if you select to include it. Please see here for more details on using Transfers on the Quicken Simplifi Mobile App

What is the "Everything else" bucket in the Spending Report?

The Total Spending Report will only show the top 8 Categories, and then everything else will be placed into the "Everything else" bucket. To see your additional spending Categories, just click on "Everything else" for a drill-down!
