A time may come when you're presented with the need to link existing accounts in Quicken Simplifi, such as when connecting a manual account to the bank, or when reconnecting a disconnected account. In these instances, linking bank accounts to your existing Quicken Simplifi accounts is what prevents duplicate accounts from being created. This article will explain how to perform these actions while maintaining your existing account connections.


After entering your credentials, Quicken Simplifi will present you with a list of the accounts that it's found. In this list, Quicken Simplifi will show the Account Name, the Account Type, and the Action Quicken Simplifi will take.

At this point, it's imperative that you properly link each account, as having "Nothing (Add as new)" selected instead can result in duplicate accounts, and improperly linking to the wrong account can result in a mismatch of downloaded transactions and balances.

To link the account(s) found to your existing account(s), follow these steps:

  1. Select the pencil icon for each account.

  2. Click the Link to dropdown menu.

  3. Select the existing account from the list.

  4. Click Update, and then click Confirm once each account selection is completed.
