Overview

Quicken Simplifi offers the ability to import transactions into any banking or credit card account using a CSV file. You can create a CSV file using our downloadable template or import directly from Mint, Personal Capital, or Apple Card.

Welcome Mint users! If you're transitioning to Quicken Simplifi from Mint and want to import your transactions, we created an article just for you here.

Preparing Transactions for Import

When importing transactions, it's important to remember that you can only import into one account at a time. While we understand this process can be cumbersome, especially when handling multiple accounts, importing into one account at a time ensures accuracy.

Also, you can only import the same transactions or the same CSV file into Quicken Simplifi once. So if an imported transaction gets deleted, the transaction would then need to be manually entered. Reimporting the same file into the same account will not re-import the deleted transaction.

Things to note:

  • We do not import Categories, so you'll need to categorize your imported transactions manually.

  • If importing from Mint, Personal Capital, or Apple Card, DO NOT alter the downloaded file.

  • You must select the Apple Card option if you're importing from Apple Card specifically.

  • If you're creating your own CSV file, you must ensure that your spreadsheet uses the exact same column headers we've provided and that your dates and amounts are formatted exactly like the examples.

    • The date should be formatted as M/D/YY (i.e., 1/1/2022).

    • The amount fields should not include dollar signs or commas.

    • All transactions should have a date, payee, and amount. Empty fields can lead to issues.

    • You'll want to be sure that negative transactions have a negative sign in front of the number or they'll import as positive transactions.

  • We recommend downloading and using our CSV template to avoid any issues with importing. Copy and paste your transactions right into the provided template for an easy import!

How to Import Transactions

  1. Hover over the menu on the left-hand side and select Transactions.

  2. Select the Account that you'd like to import into.

  3. Click the import icon (upward-facing arrow inside a cloud) located to the upper right of the register (to the right of the search box).

  4. Select where you're importing from.

  5. Ensure that the correct Account is selected, then select the CSV file you'd like to import or Drag & Drop the file into the window.

  6. Click Import when done.

Note: At this time, transactions cannot be imported via the Quicken Simplifi Mobile App; instead, you'll want to use the Web App for this.
